Students who successfully complete an Advanced Placement course receive college credit with an appropriate score (usually 4 or 5) on the AP examination. A student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in order to qualify for placement in an AP course.  There is a 4 week maximum time period allowed for a student to decide whether or not to remain in an AP course.  After that time, a student is committed to remaining in the course until the end of the semester.  AP exams are administered in May. There is a test fee for each AP exam taken. AP English Language and Composition (12) AP English Literature and Composition (11) AP Calculus AB (11, 12) AP Calculus BC (11,12) AP Spanish Language (11, 12) AP U.S. History (11) AP U.S. Government (12) Dual Enrollment Program Saint Mary's participates in dual enrollment programs with Rio Salado Community College and Phoenix College. Transferability of community college credits is determined by each university. Each of the three Arizona public universities and Maricopa County Community Colleges have agreed that these credits transfer with a grade of "C" or better; no assurance can be given that any other school would accept these courses for college credit. Enrollment in this program requires qualifying scores on the community college placement examination and payment of additional community college registration and tuition fees. A student must also have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at Saint Mary's in order to qualify for placement in a dual enrollment course.  There is a 4 week maximum time period allowed for a student to decide whether or not to remain in a dual enrollment course.  After that time, a student is committed to remaining in the course until the end of the semester.  Dual enrollment courses are offered on our campus as a part of our normal school day. Students may not take a dual enrollment course off campus during the high school academic year or during the summer for a high school course that is required to be taken at Saint Mary's during that same academic year.  MAT187 Pre-Calculus (Rio Salado Community College) MAT221 Calculus (Rio Salado Community College) MAT231 Analytic Geometry and Calculus II (Rio Salado Community College) ENG101 Senior English (Rio Salado Community College) ENG102 Senior English (Rio Salado Community College) BIO201 Human Anatomy & Physiology I (Grand Canyon University) BIO202 Human Anatomy & Physiology II (Grand Canyon University) CHM130 Fundamental Chemistry (Phoenix College Community College) THE 104 Senior Theology (University of Mary) Honors Courses Offered: Honors English 1-2 Honors English 3-4 Honors Algebra 1-2 Honors Geometry Honors Algebra 3-4/Trigonometry Honors Biology Honors Chemistry Honors Physics Honors World History/World Geography Honors Spanish 5-6 Honors French 5-6 & 7-8 Honors Fine Arts: Band, Studio Art, Digital Art Download 2011-12 Course Catalog Download 2012-13 Course Catalog
